Apart from being a talented actress, director, and activist, Wilde just seems like someone I would very much like to hang out with: For starters, she has great taste in books and movies. Her feed revealed a collection of details and shared interests that had me girl crushing on her hard. It was an adorable way of announcing her second pregnancy, but what I loved about it was that the picture felt natural and candid-a rarity in celebrity Instagram behavior.Īfter that, I started following her and consequently stalking her old photos. The picture, taken on an unmade bed with messy hair and no makeup, was clearly captured during an intimate family moment.
Wilde’s Instagram account first won me over when she posted a black-and-white photo of her and her son, Otis, revealing “ matching baby bumps” earlier this year.
But when I come across a post from Olivia Wilde, I’ll admit it: I can’t help but double tap. I’ll glance through my feed and notice Rihanna’s new hairstyle or smile at Beyoncé’s latest mommy-and-me pic, but that’s pretty much the extent of my engagement. My relationship with famous people on Instagram is like most people’s: pure voyeurism.
